Class 3G have had a wonderful first half term.
In English we have looked at a book called ‘Miranda the Explorer’ by James Mayhew. The main character, Miranda, travels to many different continents and countries in a hot air balloon.
This has also formed our geography work – discovering what a continent is and following her journey across the world on a large map in our classroom. We have learnt a little more about the countries she has visited. In Computing we have used the internet to research a country of our choice and are learning how to make a PowerPoint presentation.
In Art we have learnt how to create watercolor wash backgrounds and added to these impressive sketches of the Taj Mahal. We have also had great fun making miniature hot air balloons out of papier mache.
In Maths we have looked at place value and have learnt new methods for adding and subtracting two and three digit numbers. We have enjoyed investigating the functions of plant parts in Science.
Next half term we are looking forward to our assembly on Remembrance Day and then afterwards joining Kneller Hall at their Remembrance Day Service which is always a very moving event.
