Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!  Your child has now entered an important stage of their primary school experience: they are now top infants and will be getting ready to make the transition to the juniors!

This final year of KS1 will see your child being encouraged to work more independently. At this age, most children will have improved their ability to coordinate movement and their language/speech will be increasingly complex and grammatically correct, so it’s an exciting year for children, parents and teachers. This guide will help you to understand what your child will be learning and suggest helpful ways in which you can support them at home.

Please make us aware of any concerns you may have regarding your child’s homework, behaviour or learning.   Do NOT wait until parents evenings if you are worried, we are here to help you and your child.

How to contact your child’s teacher:

  • Write a note in your child’s home/school journal. Please remind your child to show the note to their teacher
  • Email: info@st-edmunds.richmond.sch.uk
