Covid Catch Up Funding
COVID-19 Catch-up Premium Background:
In June 2020, the government provided funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up for the 2020 to 2021 academic year. This premium was used to support pupils' catch-up for lost learning due to the national pandemic. It was provided to enable schools to start to address and meet the curriculum expectations for the academic year.
Schools are asked to target the funding in the most effective way for its pupils and to use the sum available as a single total to prioritise support (funding is allocated on a per-pupil basis). Schools are held to account for how they use the catch-up premium funding and the governing body have oversight and scrutinise:
- Spending the funding in line with the school’s catch-up priorities
- Being transparent with parents on the use of the funding eg by sharing this document on the website
