Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
This week the children have celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week. The Mental Health
Ambassadors, pictured above, greeted everyone on the gates on Tuesday to start off our zones of
regulation clothing day! It was wonderful to see so many bright colours throughout the school.
This week, the children had the opportunity to explore their place in the world and how they
manage their emotions through exploring the Zones of Regulation in their lessons.
Also, our Mental Health Ambassadors and our Education Welfare Practitioner, Shenice, delivered
a whole school assembly on Friday morning and introduced calming strategies for the children to try
when they are experiencing big feelings such as overwhelm or frustration.

The infants also enjoyed a visit from Shenice and the Mental Health Ambassadors and discussed different emotions. It was an excellent way to conclude this really important week.
We hope the children enjoyed celebrating this week as a reminder that it is important we look after our mental health and it is okay to experience all feelings!
