Equalities Project
Mrs Moreland met with a small team of parents to discuss how we can ensure all our children are being given opportunities to see themselves represented in our curriculum and at school.
We discussed specific opportunities and activities around events planned throughout the year as well as targeted and incidental opportunities. We talked about ideas around how to ensure members of our community who come from different cultural backgrounds can be welcomed and feel more involved. We want to break down barriers and make sure all families feel confident in belonging to our wider school family.
Our next meeting will be in Friday 20 March at 2pm. If any other parents would like to join our group to share ideas we would be very happy for you to come along and join us. One of our first tasks is to invite parents from a range of cultural backgrounds to come and share a story or traditional tale from their country with the children. If you are able to do this please let your child’s class teacher know so we can organise times to correspond with book week.
